Information You Submit
A search entry, such as a name, phone number, or street address, is sent to the outside provider that supplies the results. Kansas Residents Directory does not retain a copy of search terms on its own servers. Messages sent to the contact address include whatever information the sender chooses to provide, and that information is used to answer the request.
Basic Technical Logs
The hosting provider may record standard connection details such as an IP address, browser type, requested pages, and the time of a visit. These logs help spot errors and review overall traffic patterns. Cookies or related tools may be used for basic measurement or, where present, to report whether advertising was shown.
How Information Is Used
Technical data supports site operation, fault repair, aggregate traffic counts, and page improvements. We do not sell lists of visitors or assemble individual reader profiles.
External Portals and Services
Links may lead to Kansas county or state portals, library catalogs, archives, and search tools run by other companies. Once you leave this site, that provider's policy controls any information you enter. Sponsored results are supplied by an outside service with its own data practices.
Service Providers and Disclosures
Hosting and technical vendors may process server logs to run the site. Measurement or advertising partners may receive the limited automatic information described above. We disclose information when a valid legal demand requires it, or when needed to protect the site's operation and security.
Safeguards and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection. Hosting logs are kept only for the operational and measurement needs described here. There are no visitor accounts or stored account profiles on this site.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is intended for adults, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor has sent us information may contact us and request its removal.
Choices and Record Requests
Kansas law requires reasonable safeguards for certain personal information held in business records under K.S.A. 50-6,139b and sets out notice duties after qualifying security breaches in K.S.A. 50-7a01 and 50-7a02. Those laws do not create a general right to erase public records or a broad access-and-deletion process for every website. If you ask what this site holds about a contact message or server log, use the Contact page; we will search the limited records described above and remove information we can identify when appropriate. Kansas agency records remain with their public custodians. For a public record, direct correction or removal requests to the county, city, court, or state office that created or holds it.
